How did I get sick?

How can I get well?

Stress can play an important role in many health concerns. Medical experts—including the American Medical Association, the U.S. Surgeon General, the National Institutes of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Johns Hopkins, and Mayo Clinic—have long recognized the significant effects stress can have on health.

In today's world, we are continually exposed to three primary types of stress:

Physical Stress – accidents, injuries, poor sleep, repetitive activities, and exposure to adverse weather.

Chemical Stress – pollutants in the air, food, and water; pharmaceuticals; environmental toxins; and other substances that challenge your body's normal function.

Emotional Stress – pressures arising from relationships, work, finances, and everyday life.

As these stresses accumulate, your body may eventually reach a point where it can no longer compensate efficiently. Symptoms such as headaches, fatigue, neck and back pain, allergies, digestive problems, disturbed sleep, and emotional distress may begin to appear.

Many people gradually accept these problems as "normal" simply because they are common. However, common does not necessarily mean normal. Ideally, your body should function as close to its full potential as possible.

Often, we seek medical care only after symptoms begin interfering with our work, family life, or daily activities.

Conventional medical treatment frequently focuses on identifying a diagnosis and selecting the most appropriate medication or procedure. In many cases, these treatments can provide important relief from symptoms. However, when the underlying stresses remain unresolved, symptoms may continue to return or new problems may develop.

For example, someone with chronic indigestion may obtain temporary relief from an antacid, yet continue experiencing the same discomfort after future meals if the underlying factors contributing to the problem have not been addressed.

Symptoms are often your body's way of signaling that it has been under stress for some time.

Rather than focusing only on managing symptoms, Natural Healing emphasizes identifying and reducing the physical, chemical, and emotional stresses that may be contributing to the problem. Supporting your body's normal function allows its own healing processes to work more effectively.

Your body has a remarkable ability to heal itself. You see this every time you receive a cut. Without conscious effort, your blood coagulates, the wound closes, and new tissue forms. In most cases, healing occurs naturally with little or no scarring.

Natural Healing methods are designed to support these same restorative processes by helping reduce the stresses that interfere with normal function. As your body functions more efficiently, it is better able to restore balance, promote healing, and improve your overall quality of life.
